2014 is here and it is going to be a great year! I'm sure for many in our Relief Society there will be big life changes, including but not limited to: graduation, job offers, pregnancies, babies born, houses bought, many, many new beginnings ahead for all of us. It is going to be a GREAT year!
As Dr. Seuss once wrote:
You'll be on your way up!
You'll be seeing great sights!
You'll join the high fliers
who soar to high heights.
Except when you don't.
Because sometimes, you won't.
I'm sorry to say so
but, sadly, it's true
that bang-ups
and hang-ups
can happen to you.
This year might have it's trials and there may be a little turbulence in the year ahead for you and your family. Keep this insightful thought from C.S Lewis in mind. It can help put your perspective where Heavenly Father's perspective is.
“Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what He is doing. He is getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on; you knew that those jobs needed doing and so you are not surprised. But presently He starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominably and does not seem to make any sense. What on earth is He up to? The explanation is that He is building quite a different house from the one you thought of - throwing out a new wing here, putting on an extra floor there, running up towers, making courtyards. You thought you were being made into a decent little cottage: but He is building a palace. He intends to come and live in it Himself.
