Pioneer Day Concert

Sisters! Have you made plans to celebrate Pioneer Day? If you haven't, here is a great event that you'll enjoy. You can stream it live online or attend in person. To watch online go to MoTab.org/Pioneer2013 on Saturday July 20th at 8pm MDT.

The following is the press release about the event:

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square will present their annual concert held in conjunction with community-wide Pioneer Day celebrations. This year’s concert will feature up-and-coming Latter-day Saint artists Lindsey Stirling and Nathan Pacheco. The concert will be held on Friday and Saturday, July 19 and 20, at 8:00 p.m. in the Conference Center and will be conducted by Mack Wilberg, music director of the choir.

Tickets will be available on a first come, first served basis starting on Tuesday, 11 June, at lds.org/events, by calling 801-570-0080 or at the Conference Center ticket office. Admission to this event is limited to those ages eight and older.

Standby tickets for those without tickets will not be issued.  However, patrons are invited to stand by for last-minute seating each evening. The standby line will form at the north gate on Temple Square at 6:00 p.m. for the evening performances.

This Sunday's lesson will be given by the amazing Morgan Mickle! She will be teaching on the Power of the Priesthood. Here are a few questions she would like you to think about for Sunday:

How has the Priesthood blessed your life?

How can the Priesthood protect your family?

Why do we need the Priesthood?

Please take time to ponder upon these questions and come prepared to be taught by the Spirit. As always, the depth of our preparation will determine the depth of our understanding. See you on Sunday! And don't forget that it's Fast Sunday :)

The summer is moving right along and it's time to report your visiting teaching for the month of June! According to Sister Julie B. Beck, "Visiting teaching is about people, not percentages". With that in mind, please make sure to include the following information in your report:

1. Your sister's welfare

2. If you were able to watch over and care for your sister

3. Any service rendered

4. Anything you think the Relief Society Presidency should know
