How did you meet your husband? How did he propose?
Long story short- we’ve been best friends since we were born. Our parents are really close friends, and they had no part in hooking us up, it just happened on its own ;). We dated on/off through high school & college…we were never “in love” then, just dated as friends…we wrote throughout his mission and with time, he won my heart through writing. When he returned, we dated and he proposed a few months later.
We were in Austin, Tx when he proposed in a botanical Butterfly Garden. He set it all up himself. Butterflies were all around us and we were in the middle of a white gazebo. He had 3 small gifts wrapped. All three of the gifts were these beautiful white shadow boxes he made with seashells shaped like butterflies inside(if you can’t tell, they’re my thing;)). In the very last box I opened, he had my wedding ring in the middle of a seashell in this beautiful glass box. He got down on one knee and read me a beautiful poem he wrote and then asked me to marry him! One of the sweetest moments of my life… J

The best thing about being married is: Having your best friend there for you, always.

The thing we like most is exploring. We like trying new things: like new restaurants, movies, mini vacations, hiking, and where to find the best sushi

My perfect day would be a simple one. I’d wanted to be surrounded by the ones I love, close family and friends. Probably on the beach somewhere all day with white horses and boats everyone could ride. I’d want to stay in a beautiful house with big comfortable beds and soft silky sheets. The simple luxuries of life. J

What was the best advice you got/would give on marriage?
Serve each other. If you’re always looking out for the other person’s welfare, you’re never going to get caught up in yourself. It’s a simple way to achieve great happiness together.

What story does your family always tell about you?
When I was only 3 years old, I would run around in my slip and ballet shoes singing phantom of the opera songs, word for word and with perfect pitch. Everyone seems to remember that story; best part is we have it all on video, so it’s pretty hilarious.
